Equip Shechem school with e-readers
2024-2025
Senegal
Action realized with: ADIFLOR
The aim of this project is to promote reading in French and the use of digital technology, in particular by making custom-made French-language e-readers available in schools.
For this project, ADIFLOR relies on a partnership with the Senegalese association Synergie pour l’Éducation au Numérique et aux Médias (SENUM), which aims to build the digital skills capacity of those involved in education. SENUM is responsible for training teachers in the use of e-readers.
In addition to delivering the e-readers and providing support in their use, ADIFLOR organizes a “Reading Festival” to reward the best pupils from schools taking part in the project, and to recognize the work of the teachers who have supported them.
By the end of 2023, more than 4,000 Senegalese pupils will have benefited from the e-readers!
In addition to Senegal, Adiflor has alsodeployed its e-readers in schools and libraries in Chad, Togo, Madagascar, Romania and Tunisia.
For the start of the 2024-2025 school year, the 1% For Education Fund has financed the provision of 28 reading lights for the Shechem association school. The 230 pupils and their teachers are enthusiastic about this new tool!
The e-readers will be shared between the different classes, who will take it in turns to use them during reading sessions.
